Oh my bowls.

Here we are. I have stopped at five. Instead of finishing the sixth, I am making the piece below into a wall hanging rather then the top of a bowl.

Impact Series

Here are some more pieces from my impact/elementus series. You should be able to click on the photo to see the detail. The purple one is 'spirit. The reddish one is 'fire' They explore the understated importance nature still plays in our busy lives and the sometimes unexpected impact that it can have on us.

Fourth Bowl

Here is my finished fourth bowl. Very happy with it now. The base is felted. The top is worked on water soluble fabric with angelina fibres, felt, velvet and organzas. Two more to go!

What i've been up to 2...

The top pic is a finished piece from a series I have just finished. This one is 'air'. The second pic is stitching on water soluble fabric. I have since dissolved the fabric to leave the stitching. This is going to be the top of one of my other bowls....3 almost 4 down, 2 to go....

What I've been up to...

I've been a busy busy girl. Here are some of the bowls I've been working on for my exhibition. Sewing felted bowls under the sewing machine was interesting. Gradually getting the hang of maneuvering the bowl around to get the needle in the right spot. Also my first go at coiling. Pam from my embroiderer's guild group showed me how to do it neatly.
